From True North founder Forrest Braden: I knew in high school I wanted to take people fishing for a living. In the offshore, Southern Cal and Mexican waters I grew up fishing, it was about catching tuna and yellowtail in volume for our angling clients using cutting edge gear and technology. That’s ingrained in how we conduct business here in Alaska as well. We get that the above water environment is beyond magical. We just still want the amazing fishing action Alaska is capable of offering for the guest, and that takes experience, planning, work, and the right gear and tackle. That’s what we’re about.

Forrest Braden

Forrest Braden is the owner of True North Sport Fishing and captains the Endeavor. His professional experience includes 8 years on overnight and long range deep sea fishing boats out of San Diego followed by an additional 28 seasons on local Alaska waters.

He also commercial fishes for halibut and engages in fishery policy work for the Alaska guided recreational fishing industry when not on the water. He enjoys any time he gets with his sweet wife and seven children, as well as church service.
